Be very careful the next time you crack open that long-forgotten storage facility.
Earlier this week it was announced that genre veteran Isabelle Fuhrman signed on to star in Unit 234–a new horror thriller from Productivity Media–and now Golden Globe winner Don Johnson has come aboard as co-star and executive producer, according to a report on Deadline.
Johnson–perhaps best known for his TV roles on Nash Bridges and Miami Vice and his recent big-screen appearance in Knives Out–will team with Fuhrman (Orphan, The Last Thing Mary Saw) in the feature currently filming in the Cayman Islands.
Unit 234–directed by Andy Tennant from a screenplay by Derek Steiner–also revealed an updated synopsis. The film follows Laurie Saltair (Fuhrman), “a lone employee at a remote storage facility who discovers an unconscious man named Clayton locked inside Unit 234–chained to a gurney and missing a kidney.”
Saltair must “fight to survive a ruthless gang that’s dead-set on retrieving their precious cargo–at any cost.” It’s unclear at this time if Johnson plays Clayton, but that might be a good guess.
Unit 234 is produced by Blythe Frank, Hadeel Reda, Lee Dreyfuss, William Santor and Doug Murray–with Johnson, Colleen Camp and Mimi Steinbauer serving as executive producers.
