Unsurprisingly, with the postponement of Black Widow, The Hollywood Reporter brings word the new slate of films for the Marvel Cinematic Universe have all been given new release dates, including Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness which will now premiere November 5, 2021.
As the final MCU movie set to release in 2021, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness was previously set to kick off the summer movie season in May.
Plot details of the film are scarce but according to producer Scott Derrickson, the film will explore more of the “gothic” horror elements from the comic books than the first installment.
The sequel currently has Sam Raimi (Evil Dead, Darkman) attached to direct. The previous production schedule, which is undergoing a script re-write and was set to shoot in May, became unrealistic.
The new November 2021 date gives the cast and crew time to craft a quality feature.
