Take the ride…to the other side.
Disney’s Haunted Mansion–the reimagining of the 2003 horror-comedy–will hit the big screen in a couple of months, and the official trailer is now here. Check out the “spirited” video on this page.
The PG-13-rated film–set for a July 28 theatrical release–is directed by Justin Simien from a screenplay by Katie Dippold.
Haunted Mansion follows single mom Gabbie (Rosario Dawson) as she moves into a New Orleans mansion with her son (Chase Dillon), only to discover the house is haunted. So, of course, she asks a priest (Owen Wilson) for help, and he “spins an exorcism into a wild adventure,” according to the synopsis.
Before long, they turn to “a widowed scientist-turned-paranormal expert (LaKeith Stanfield), a psychic from the French Quarter (Tiffany Haddish) and a crotchety historian (Danny DeVito) for more help.”
Also on hand for the eerie antics are Jamie Lee Curtis as Madame Leona and Jared Leto as The Hatbox Ghost–alongside cameos by Winona Ryder and Dan levy.
