The dinosaurs are here…be very afraid.
The official trailer for this summer’s Jurassic World: Dominion dropped this week, and it looks like the prehistoric beasties are everywhere. Check out the action-packed clip–courtesy of Deadline–on this page.
Dominion–directed by Colin Trevorrow from a screenplay he wrote with Emily Carmichael–is set four years after Isla Nublar has been destroyed, according to the official logline, and dinosaurs now live–and hunt–alongside humans all over the globe.
“This fragile balance will reshape the future and determine whether humans are to remain the apex predators on a planet they now share with history’s most fearsome creatures,” according to the synopsis.
The film–which crashes into theaters June 10–stars Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Omar Sy, Mamoudou Athie, DeWanda Wise, Daniella Pineda, Justice Smith, Jake Johnson, Scott Haze, Campbell Scott and Dichen Lachman–as well as the returning trio of Sam Neill, Laura Dern and Jeff Goldblum from Jurassic Park.
Trevorrow said this is the movie “I’ve been waiting to make from the beginning. It’s the one we have spent the past two movies building to. It really was part of a larger story, and part of the design.”
The director added that “people may be underestimating the size and importance of Laura Dern and Sam Neill and Jeff Goldblum’s characters in this movie. It is very much an ensemble, and that includes the ability to take these characters from almost 30 years ago and understand how they interact with each other in the context of a world we’ve really never seen before.”
