According to Deadline, Deborah Ayorinde will be joining an already solid cast for HBO’s True Detective Season Three.
Ayorinde (Girls Trip, Luke Cage, Sleepy Hollow) will portray Becca Hayes, the estranged daughter of retired Arkansas State Police detective Wayne Hayes (played by Academy Award winner Mahershala Ali). The already announced cast includes Carmen Ejogo, Michael Greyeyes, Jon Tenney, Rhys Wakefield, Sarah Gadon, Emily Nelson, Brandon Flynn, Michael Graziadei, Josh Hopkins, Stephen Dorff and Jodi Balfour.
This season’s story will focus on the “…story of a macabre crime in the heart of the Ozarks, and a mystery that deepens over decades and plays out in three separate time periods.” Series creator Nic Pizzolatto is once again the sole writer for the third season (with the exception of Episode 4, which he co-wrote with David Milch). Pizzolatto will also direct many of the episodes, along with Jeremy Saulnier (Blue Ruin, Green Room) and Daniel Sackheim (Better Call Saul, The Americans). True Detective is scheduled to debut sometime in 2019.
