DC Comics is celebrating Independence Day on Tuesday with the first issue of its Knight Terrors event, which will “plunge Earth into darkness”. Check out the trailer for the horror series on this page.
Knight Terrors: First Blood No. 1--from writer Joshua Williamson and artists Howard Porter and Brad Anderson–will go on sale Tuesday, July 4, and subsequent issues in the series will be available throughout July and August.
The four-issue series kicks off with First Blood No. 1 when the Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman “find the body of one of their earliest enemies inside the Hall of Justice. Their investigation takes them beyond the land of the dead and to a new villain called Insomnia, who uses his powers to engulf everyone in their own twisted nightmares.” And the only way to save the world is to call Deadman.
In the event’s second issue, the Golden Age hero the Sandman (Wesley Dodds) teams up with the Batman and Deadman to seek out the Nightmare Stone, “but Insomnia has unleashed his army–the Sleepless Knights–to hunt them down.”
