DC Comics and Joe Hill are providing an early treat to fans this Halloween season with a glimpse at the upcoming Hill House Comics line via a free online sampler. The sampler includes previews of the first title from the imprint, Basketful of Heads, by Joe Hill and Leomacs, as well as The Dollhouse Factory (by Mike Carey and Peter Gross), and The Low, Low Woods (by Carmen Maria Machado with art by Dani).
The sampler also includes previews of two upcoming titles scheduled for 2020: January’s Daphne Byrne (no relation to legendary X-Men artist John Byrne, written by Laura Marks with art by horror-fan favorite Kelley Jones) and February’s Plunge, a six-issue limited series written by Hill and and an artist to be named later.
According to the official press release, “Readers will also get their first look at Sea Dogs, also written by Joe Hill with art by Dan McDaid. Sea Dogs is an old-school serialized pulp strip that will appear in every issue of Hill House Comics and takes place on the high seas where a fledgling American government uses werewolves in its fight to gain independence from the British.”
Basketful of Heads #1 debuts on October 30, followed by The Dollhouse Family #1 on November 13, and The Low, Low Woods #1 on December 18. Fans can access the free 28 page sampler here and be sure to stay tuned to Horror News Network for more announcements and reviews of the Hill House Comics brand.
