The Freakers are coming to a theater near you.

Days Gone–the zombie video game from Bend Studios–is getting a Silver Screen adaptation from Sony PlayStation Productions, according to a report on Deadline.

The film–which is eyeing Sam Heughan (Outlander) in the Deacon St. John role–is being written by Sheldon Turner (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning).

The Days Gone game–set in Oregon two years after a global pandemic has changed people into zombie-like Freakers–follows “former motorcycle club member Deacon St. John as he fights to survive against mutated, predatory humans in his quest to find his long-lost–and presumed dead–love of his life.”

The screenplay reportedly will be a “love ballad to motorcycle movies–the bike being St. John’s sole form of transportation.” No further details on casting or production schedules have been revealed.
