Goodbye, so long, farewell.
David Harbour is pumped and ready to return as Jim Hopper in the fifth and final season of the Netflix phenomenon Stranger Things--slated to start shooting sometime next year for a likely 2024 debut on the streamer–and saying goodbye will be bittersweet for him.
The busy actor–who also appears in the upcoming Marvel flick Thunderbolts—told Collider that filming the upcoming Stranger Things season will be a labor of love.
Playing Hopper, Harbour said, is “the role of a lifetime. This season will be my goodbye to Jim Hopper–which is a big deal. Fortunately, I feel like I have a long time to say goodbye because I think we’re going to take a long time shooting these episodes.”
The actor added that series creators Matt and Ross Duffer “are very specific, and Season 5 will be packed to the brim with good stuff that you love. They really are getting better at giving you that home run that audiences love. I’m going to pour my soul into it as hard as I can.”
Joining Harbour in the cast will be Winona Ryder (as Joyce Byers), Millie Bobby Brown( Eleven), Finn Wolfhard (Mike Wheeler), Gaten Matarazzo (Dustin Henderson), Caleb McLaughlin (Lucas Sinclair), Noah Schnapp (Will Byers), Sadie Sink (Max Mayfield), Natalia Dyer (Nancy Wheeler) and many more.
The Duffer Brothers serve as executive producers of the series, alongside Shawn Levy, Dan Cohen, Iain Paterson and Curtis Gwinn.
