The countdown has begun.

The Exorcist: Believer–the first of three planned sequels to the original 1973 horror classic–will hit theaters just before Halloween, and director David Gordon Green this week dropped a very brief video tease for his film. Check it out on this page.

The Blumhouse Productions/Universal Pictures/Peacock sequel–planned for an Oct. 13 theatrical release–is written by Green, Scott Teems, Danny McBride and Peter Sattler.

In the film, the father (Leslie Odom Jr.) of a possessed child tracks down Chris MacNeil (Ellen Burstyn reprising her original role) for help, according to the brief synopsis.

The rest of the cast includes Linda Blair (returning in her iconic Regan MacNeil role), Ann Dowd, Olivia Marcum, Lidya Jewett, Raphael Sbarge, Jennifer Nettles and Okwui Okpokwasili.
