Ain’t reunions grand?

The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon–one of the spinoffs of the AMC fan-favorite zombie series–now has a new title for Season 2–and a new co-star, according to a report on Deadline.

As revealed at the New York Comic Con (to the surprise of virtually no one), Melissa McBride–as Carol Peletier–will reunite with Norman Reedus’ Dixon in the second season of the new show.

Currently in production overseas, the upcoming season–The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon–The Book of Carol (quite a mouthful)–is expected to debut sometime next year.

McBride’s take on all this? “I’ve known there was much more to be told of Carol’s story, as I felt her so unsettled when we last saw her–as she watched her best friend, Daryl, ride away,” she said. “Their stories run deep, and I’m excited to continue Carol’s journey here. ”

The actor added that “the storytellers have done amazing work to land these two established characters in an entirely new world. I’m loving the discoveries.”

Season 1 of the series–led  by showrunner David Zabel–found Dixon washed ashore in post-apocalyptic France with no idea how he wound up there. As he fights to return home, Dixon is recruited to guide a young boy named Laurent across the country filled with dangerous Walkers.

The cast is rounded out by Clemence Poesy, Adam Nagaitis, Anne Charrier, Eriq Ebanouey, Laika Blanc Francard, Romain Levy and Louis Puech Scigliuzzi.
