Darren Lynn Bousman Returns with ‘St. Agatha’

by Nick Banks

Darren Lynn Bousman, the director most famous for Saw II, III, and IV, is ready to return to cinemas (well, at least one or two) with his latest film St. Agatha. The film (clearly an attempt to capitalize on this past fall’s The Nun), begins with a young girl seeking refuge in a spooky convent. Our protagonist, Mary (get it?), soon realizes that the seemingly innocent, evil nuns are really “not innocent”, evil nuns and has to run for her life.

The film stars True Blood’s Carolyn Hennesy, Sabrina Kern (Pretty Hurt), Courtney Halverson (Unfriended), Trin Miller (Captain Fantastic) and Seth Michaels (Eden).  St. Agatha was surprisingly written by four individuals including Andy Demetrio, Shaun Fletcher, Sara Sometti Michaels, and Clint Sears.  Uncork’d Entertainment will handle the film’s North American distribution, although it may hard to locate in your local area.  The film is set to debut in theaters, On Demand, and Digital HD all on the same day, which happens to be February 8.

You can check out the poster below, which features some wall paper swiped from Disney’s Haunted Mansion and some mysterious nuns who are wearing white masks for some reason.  Want to know why?  If so, you’ll probably have to see this film.
