Like father, like son.

Megalomaniac–a horror feature that made its world premiere at the recent Fantasia International Film Festival–now has a fall theatrical release.

The film–the latest effort from filmmaker Karim Ouelhaj (The Frozen Eye)–will hit theaters Sept. 8 from Dark Star Pictures. The cast includes Eline Schumacher, Wim Willaert, Benjamin Ramon, Pierre Nisse and Raphaelle Lubansu.

The movie follows Martha and Felix–the children of the Butcher of Mons, a notorious 1990s Belgian serial killer. While the insecure Martha lives vicariously through social media, Felix “is crushed by the family legacy and takes over his father’s murders.”

Harassed and attacked at work, Martha “falls into madness and falls through the looking glass and into the strange and terrifying world inhabited by her brother.”

Dark Star president Michael Repsch called the film “absolutely unrelenting” in its approach to horror, predicting that its “gruesome visuals and special effects will be a hit with the genre community.”
