Dark Horse Comics Explores The Realm Of ‘Stranger Things’

Just in case horror fans (and comic book aficionados) didn’t think things were strange enough over the past year, Dark Horse Comics aims to make the world “stranger” still.

Dark Horse is rolling out four graphic novels this year based on the popular Netflix series Stranger Things–follow-ups to a comics the publisher unveiled late last year–as reported by syfy.com. Three books are collections of previously published comics and the fourth is a brand-new graphic novel that spotlights one of the youngsters from Hawkins, Ind.

These YA graphic novels–check out the covers on this page–hopefully will keep fans of the Duffer Brothers’ hit show reasonably happy while they wait for Season 4 to finally start. Recent reports from at least two of the show’s actors point to the upcoming season to debut on Netflix sometime in 2022. Stay tuned for a specific date.

But, in the meantime, the first collection–Stranger Things Library Edition Vol. 1–which will be available Aug. 31 for $39.99–will contain Stranger Things: The Other Side and Stranger Things: Science Camp. And then, Stranger Things Library Edition Vol. 2–containing Stranger Things: SIX and Stranger Things: Into the Fire–will hit local shops Nov. 2 (and also cost $39.99).

In addition, a new Stranger Things YA boxed set with three standalone stories–Stranger Things: Zombie BoyStranger Things: Bully and Stranger Things: Erica the Great!–will arrive Nov. 23 (for $29.99). This set also includes a double-sized poster featuring the covers from the series.

And the last of those comics–Stranger ThingsErica the Great!–will also be published as its own graphic novel Nov. 23 for $12.99. This comic–from writers Greg Pak and Danny Lore, artist Valeria Favoccia, colorist Dan Jackson and letterer Nate Piekos–will star Lucas’ little sister. The story follows this “ambitious, bossy, brilliant 10-year-old kid dealing with boredom and the complexities of maintaining friendships through tough times.” Horrors!
