by Rob Caprilozzi

There is horror in the darkness.

Dark Glasses–the latest journey into the world of terror by filmmaker Dario Argento (Suspiria)–will debut this Halloween season, according to a report on comicbook.com.

The film–written and directed by Argento–will hit theaters in New York and Los Angeles Oct. 7 before streaming on Shudder Oct. 13 and then expanding to even more theaters Oct. 14.

In Dark Glasses–starring Ilenia Pastorelli, Andrea Zhang and Asia Argento–“an eclipse blackens the skies on a hot summer day in Rome–a harbinger of the darkness that will envelop Diana (Pastorelli) when a serial killer chooses her as prey,” according to the synopsis.

As Diana tries to escape, she crashes her car and loses her sight. She emerges from the initial shock “determined to fight for her life, but she’s no longer alone. Acting as her eyes is a boy, Chin (Zhang), who survived the car accident. But the killer won’t give up his victim.”

Dark Glasses is produced by Conchita Airoldi, Laurentina Guidotti, Brahim Chioua, Vincent Maraval and Noemie Devide.
