CT HorrorFest 2018’s ‘Adult and Kids Costume Contests’

Dozens of costumed ghouls filled the streets of Danbury, CT as they made their way to CT HorrorFest at the Danbury Arena. It wasn’t blood or bodies that the undead were on the hunt for, it was fun and prizes.

First up was the kid’s costume contest which featured adorable little tykes dressed as scary as possible.  The contest was won by a young girl who was dressed as a mash up of Sally from Nightmare Before Christmas and Freddy Krueger from Nightmare on Elm Street. Her costume was brilliantly done and was called “Nightmare Before Christmas on Elm Street.” Runner-up was a lovable girl dressed as Pennywise from IT. A miniature duo of Freddy (from Nightmare on Elm Street) and Jason (from Friday the 13th) took third place and killed the crowd in the most adorable way possible.

After a brief intermission the adult’s costume contest was next. Contestants came ready to show their best costumes which included killer clowns, Salad Fingers, multiple renditions Michael Myers and Jason Voorhees, Little Red Riding Hood and The Big Bad Wolf, Billy the Puppet, Carrie, The Babadook, and more.

After taking multiple looks at the incredible costumes the judges finally made their decision. Babadook took third place with a stunning costume. Second place was won by the character that came to be called “Strawberry Pin Head Cake,” because the character was a mash-up of both Pinhead from Hellraiser and Strawberry Shortcake. The grand prize went to a costumed Michael Myers complete with a large diorama of the Strode house from Halloween.

Have a look at both the adults and kids costume contest below.
