Creepy-Crawly Pic ‘Sting’ Gets Release Date, Drops Trailer

by Thomas Tuna

“Spiders only know two things: how to eat…and how to kill.”

It’s been a year since news dropped about the spider-themed horror flick Sting, but now fans can look forward to the pic’s release in two months. In addition, a chilling trailer and poster have dropped. Check them out on this page.

The film–slated for theaters April 12–comes from writer/director Kaih Roache-Turner, with special puppet effects from Weta Workshop (King Kong, The Lord of the Rings). The cast includes Ryan Corr, Alyla Browne, Penelope Mitchell and Robyn Nevin.

Sting follows 12-year-old Charlotte, who discovers “a strange, little spider after it falls from the sky–encased in an egg. The girl begins to feel isolated,”and bonds with the spider–keeping it as a pet and naming it Sting.”

As time goes on, the spider grows longer, and “its appetite for blood becomes insatiable. Neighbors’ pets go missing, and when her family becomes trapped by Sting, Charlotte is the only one who knows how to stop it.”
