‘Creepshow’ Animated Special Coming to Shudder in October

As if 2020 wasn’t creepy enough, Shudder will be getting a new entry of the Creepshow series, this time it will be an animated special. Set to feature the voices of Kiefer Sutherland (24) and Joey King (The Act), the announcement was made via a post today on the site’s Twitter.

Set to feature two stories written by father and son horror masterminds Stephen King and Joe Hill, Greg Nicotero (The Walking Dead) will direct both episodes.

The first is called Survivor Type and is adapted from King’s short story of the same title. The story involves a man (Sutherland) who is determined to stay alive on a deserted island no matter what.

The second part, Twittering from the Circus of the Dead, is based on the short story by Hill. This one will center on a teen (J. King) whose family road trip includes a visit to the “gravest show on earth.”

The Creepshow animated special comes right in time for Halloween as it is set to debut on October 26.

Since Mark was four years old he has always loved the horror genre, even when his mother would be a good parent and not let him watch such films. It was when he would sneak into the Horror section at the video store called Tommy K's that he would see all of the VHS covers of classics like Friday the 13th and A Nightmare on Elm Street. During his time as a journalism major and news staff writer at Southern CT State University, he had the pleasure of meeting and interviewing paranormal investigator Lorraine Warren before a seminar in 2009 at the Lyman Center on campus.
