Coverage of “Scares That Care Charity Weekend”

by Larry Dwyer

Hello all! Our awesome contributor Justine Marcoux hit up Scares That Care Charity Weekend in Virginia and got the amazing coverage you see below (all while rocking and incredible Jamie Lloyd cosplay!)

Here is what Justine had to say about the event:

Scares That Care founder and CEO Joe Ripple and his crew have done it again. Another weekend of frights and delights has come to an end, but for the fighting families selected for help at this year’s Scares That Care event, I’m sure their smiles will be sticking around long after the event is over.

This year, three lives were changed with the gift of compassion, empathy and support in fighting real “monsters” and I couldn’t be happier to have been a small part of it. Joe upgraded his traditional hot pink bra to a green and purple light-up corset, which was quickly filled to the brim with donations from attendees and volunteers alike.

It really is a magical feeling being around so many kindhearted people and I’m so sad I’m no longer wandering around stabbing people with (fake) scissors at this amazing charity event. I will be anxiously waiting for next year’s “Scares.” I highly suggest you check it out!

Scares That Care Weekend has already announced August 3rd – August 5th as their dates for next year’s event.
