Stock up on the wolfsbane.
Werewolf by Night–last year’s Marvel Studios Halloween special on Disney+–may get a follow-up, if director Michael Giacchino gets his wish.
While no sequel has been officially announced, Giacchino recently told Collider “there’s always talk. So, hopefully. My wish is that there will be more with these characters.”
Expounding on the topic, the filmmaker said, “I would love to do it, and I have ideas of what I would love to do with them–and it’s all crazy and nuts. Hopefully, one day.” Hardly written in stone, but stay tuned.
The original hour-long, black-and-white Werewolf by Night–helmed by Giacchino from a screenplay by Peter Cameron and Heather Quinn–stars Gael Garcia Bernal as Jack Russell (aka the nighttime werewolf), Laura Donnelly as Elsa Bloodstone and Harriet Sansom Harris as Verusa–along with a special appearance from Marvel’s macabre Man-Thing.
In the show, a group of monster hunters gather at Bloodstone Castle following the death of Ulysses Bloodstone, and are thrust into a “mysterious and deadly competition for the powerful Bloodstone–a hunt that brings them face-to-face with a dangerous monster.”
