Could Emma Roberts Return For The Next ‘Scream’ Entry?

Must be hard to get it out of your blood.

Horror veteran Emma Roberts has said she would be up for another go at the Scream franchise, according to a report on comicbook.com.

Roberts–who appeared as Jill Roberts, Sidney Prescott’s teenage cousin in 2011’s Scream 4–said, when asked about potential returns to the world of horror, “maybe I’d go back to Scream. I feel like I wasn’t done with Scream.”

Roberts–who has also made her mark on the small screen with American Horror Story and Scream Queens–would rejoin fellow Scream 4 alum Hayden Panettiere, who is set to reprise her role as Kirby Reed in the next film that starts shooting soon in Canada for a March 31, 2023 release. That is, of course, if Roberts is invited back and all the stars align properly.

Sadly, she would not rejoin legacy star Neve Campbell, who recently said she will not reprise her role as Sidney Prescott in Scream 6. Campbell explained that “the offer that was presented to me did not equate to the value I have brought to the franchise. It’s been a very difficult decision to move on.”

The actors who have signed on for the next Scream include returnees Courteney Cox, Melissa Barrera, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Mason Gooding and Jenna Ortega–along with Dermot Mulroney, Jack Champion, Liana Liberato, Devyn Nekoda and Josh Segarra.

The next Scream–which is believed to be set in New York City–is again directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett and written by James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick.
