‘Cosmetic’–New Body Horror Film From James Wan–Being Developed

What price beauty?

Screen Gems this week picked up Cosmetic–a new body horror pitch from James Wan and Ingrid Bisu– according to a report on Deadline.

Wan–known to genre fans for Saw, Insidious and The Conjuring–and Bisu–who co-wrote the story for Malignant with Wan–came up with the original idea for Cosmetic. The screenplay will be written by R.H. Norman and Micheline Pitt, who will also co-direct the film.

Cosmetic is set in the beauty industry, “colliding the worlds of glamour and body horror in a supernatural tale of one girl’s deadly pursuit of perfection.”

Wan and Michael Clear are producing the film for Atomic Monster, with Bisu and Judson Scott serving as executive producers.

No casting choices or production schedules have been revealed at this early juncture, so keep reading Horror News Network for updates on Cosmetic.
