Constantin Film to Reboot ‘Wrong Turn’ Franchise

Cannibals have something to cheer for today as Constantin Film has announced that they are remaking the Wrong Turn franchise. Series creator, Alan B. McElroy returns to write the script with Mike P. Nelson attached to direct.

Deadline uncovered that the film is described as a timely and topical meditation on society and its issues. The script is said to follow a group of friends on a a cross-country hiking expedition who run upon the cannibals.

Originally released on May 30, 2003 Wrong Turn starred Eliza Dushku, Desmond Harrington, Emmanuelle Chriqui, Kevin Zegers, and Jeremy Sisto. The film, which was written by Alan B. McElroy and directed by Rob Schmidt, follows a clan of cannibals as they hunt unfortunate victims that stumble upon their home. The film was such a success that it spawned five more films in shape of two sequels and three prequels.
