‘Clown In A Cornfield’ Coming From ‘Smile’ Producers

by Thomas Tuna

And now, here’s something to make horror fans really smile.

Temple Hill Entertainment–fresh off its global box office success with Smile–will produce another horror feature, Clown in a Cornfield, according to a report on Deadline.

The film–being shopped by Protagonist ahead of next week’s American Film Market in Los Angeles–is being adapted from Adam Cesare’s novel of the same name by Carter Blanchard. Eli Craig (Tucker & Dale Vs. Evil) will direct the feature.

Casting choices have not yet been announced, but the slasher will revolve around a “fading Midwestern town where Frendo the clown–a symbol of bygone success–reemerges as a terrifying scourge,” according to the logline.

Petersen Harris, George Berman and John Fischer are overseeing the project at Temple Hill. No production schedule or release window has yet been revealed.
