Clarence Williams III Passes Away at 81

Sad news to pass along today as Clarence Williams III has died, according to a report on Deadline. The actor passed away quietly at his home in Los Angeles after a battle with colon cancer. He was 81.

Williams was known to horror fans for appearing in Maniac Cop 2, Tales from the Hood, Tales from the Crypt and Twin Peaks.

In addition to his horror roles, Williams had a career which lasted over five decades and included roles in The Mod Squad, Purple Rain, T.J. Hooker, 52 Pick-Up, Ali: An American Hero, Reindeer Games, The Legend of 1900, Sugar Hill, Half Baked and I’m Gonna Git You Sucka.

Williams career had its start on the stage. In 1965 he garnered a Tony nomination for best featured actor in a play for his work in the three-person drama Slow Dance on the Killing Ground.
