Cinemax Picks Up Robert Kirkman’s ‘Outcast’

Cinemax has picked up Robert Kirkman’s ‘Outcast’, a 10- episode exorcism drama based on his original comic. Kirkman, who is executive producer and comic writer of ‘The Walking Dead,’ is writing the pilot and executive producing ‘Outcast’ as well. Black, David Alpert of Circle of Confusion, Sharon Tal Yguado of FIC and Sue Naegle are also producing. Based Skybound/Image’s comic by Kirkman with art by Paul Azaceta, ‘Outcast’ is about Kyle Barnes (Patrick Fugit), who is a lifelong victim of demon possession. Reverend Anderson (Philip Glenister), who has troubles of his own, helps Kyle on a mission to get his life back. On his quest for answers, Kyle uncovers something that could forever change his fate, and the world’s. Gabriel Bateman also co-stars in the Adam Wingard directed pilot.
