Chilling Teaser Drops For ‘The Last Voyage Of The Demeter’

There’s something out there. And it’s not good.

The upcoming cinematic slice of the Dracula legend–The Last Voyage of the Demeter–hits theaters next month, and a brand-new (and way-too-brief) teaser has arrived. Check out the clip on this page.

The new Universal/Dreamworks horror pic–directed by Andre Ovredal from a screenplay by Bragi Schut, Stefan Ruzowitsky and Zak Olkewicz–follows the doomed merchant ship Demeter on its voyage from Carpathia to London–laden with 50 unmarked wooden crates. Unmarked, but not empty.

The film–landing on the big screen Aug. 11–is based on one chapter of Bram Stoker’s Dracula, and stars Javier Botet as the iconic vampire–along with Corey Hawkins, Aisling Franciosi, Liam Cunningham, David Dastmalchian, Jo Jo Briones, Stefan Kapicic and Nikolai Nikolaeff.

The feature relates the strange events that befall the crew, “as they’re stalked each night by a merciless presence aboard the ship.” And, when the ship lands in England, the vessel is a “charred, derelict wreck–and there’s no trace of the crew.”
