This King venture is not getting the royal treatment.
No news has dropped on the MGM+ series Chapelwaite–the adaptation of Stephen King’s 1978 novella Jerusalem’s Lot (a prequel to Salem’s Lot)–since early 2022, and now the news is not good for fans of what was planned as a limited series.
Jason Filardi–co-showrunner along with Peter Filardi–this week announced on social media (check it out on this page) that the show will not be back for Season 2.
I'm afraid Captain Boone's story ends on that beach of weathered, Maine sand. There will be no season 2. Thank you to all the Chapelwaite fans! #Chapelwaite

In the 10-episode first season, set in 1850, Captain Charles Boone (Adrien Brody) and his children return to the small town of Preacher’s Corner in Maine following his wife’s tragic death aboard a whaler ship. But what they find is a place where “a dark family history haunts them until confronted.”
Season 1 also stars Emily Hampshire, Jennifer Ens, Sirena Gulamgaus, Ian Ho, Gord Rand, Trina Corkhum and Genevieve DrGraves.
