Yesterday, CBS premiered the trailer for its upcoming series Clarice. Based on Thomas Harris’ best-seller The Silence of the Lambs, the show appears to pick up after the iconic 1991 film left off. In the new eerie trailer, we see Agent Starling, played by Rebecca Breeds, pushed back into action after the Hannibal case into a whole new world of heinous crimes in Washington, D.C.
While it appears that the series will not feature everyone’s favorite cannibal, Hannibal Lecter, the dark brooding trailer of Clarice hints that the show will delve into more of the personal backstory of Clarice Starling. It also reveals her new assignments in DC will be just as horrifying as her previous and now politically charged.
Back in 1992, The Silence of the Lambs swept the Academy Awards including best acting Oscars for both Anthony Hopkins for his role as Hannibal Lecter and Jodie Foster for her portrayal of Agent Clarice Starling. CBS is set to premiere Clarice is set on February 11th.
