Living with nuns is not for everyone.
Visitation–a new horror thriller being shot in Ireland–this week rounded out its principal cast, according to a report on Deadline. There is no word yet on a release window.
The feature–directed by Nicolas Pesce (The Grudge) from a screenplay by Helen Gaughran–will star Olivia Cooke (House of the Dragon), Isla Johnston (The Queen’s Gambit), Alfie Allen (Game of Thrones), Penelope Wilton (Downton Abbey) and Stephen Rea (Interview with the Vampire).
In Visitation, 14-year-old Maria is sent away to live with Catholic nuns when her mother is sick and dying, according to the synopsis. But Maria’s arrival “turns sinister, as one of her caretakers becomes enamored of her for all the wrong reasons.”
Cooke will play one of the nuns, who is described as being central to the storyline, but the remaining characters have not yet been revealed.
David Lancaster and Stephanie Wilcox of Rumble Films and Katie Holly of Blinder Films will serve as producers.
