There’s still something strange in the neighborhood.
The upcoming sequel to 2021’s Ghostbusters: Afterlife has started filming, and this week several new cast members signed on for the spooky adventures to come, according to a report on Deadline.
Kumail Nanjiani, Patton Oswalt, Emily Alyn Lind and comedian James Acaster have joined Finn Wolfhard, Mckenna Grace, Carrie Coon, Ernie Hudson and Paul Rudd in the cast.
Fans are still waiting to see if legacy stars Dan Aykroyd and/or Bill Murray will make appearances.
The Sony Pictures film–still operating without a final title–is directed by Gil Kenan and written and produced by Jason Reitman. Look for this sequel in theaters Dec. 20.
The original 1984 Ghostbusters–directed and produced by Ivan Reitman from a screenplay by Aykroyd and Harold Ramis–follows three eccentric parapsychologists who run a ghost-catching business in New York City. The box office hit (nearly $300 million worldwide) was nominated for two Academy Awards.
