Brief Teaser Drops For ‘Welcome To Derry’ Series On Max

“This ain’t America…this is Derry.”

A blink-and-you’ll-miss-it tease for Welcome to Derry–the Max TV prequel series to the It film franchise based on the 1986 Stephen King bestseller–was dropped this week as part of the streamer’s preview video for the next two years. Check out the video on this page.

The series–developed by Andy and Barbara Muschietti and Jason Fuchs–will debut on Max sometime in 2025. Stay tuned for an exact date.

Welcome to Derry–set in the 1960s–stars Taylour Paige, Jovan Adepo, Chris Chalk, James Remar, Madeline Stowe and Stephen Rider. The show’s storyline will delve into the backstory of Pennywise the Clown and the curse hanging over Derry–the Maine town featured in King’s horror novel.

The original It feature–directed by Andy Muschietti from a screenplay by Chase Palmer, Cary Fukunaga and Gary Dauberman–follows the members of the Losers’ Club–a group of seven outcast children who battle Pennywise.
