Sad news to report today as veteran Hollywood actor Brian Dennehy has passed away at age 81.
The Connecticut native has appeared in a slew of films including First Blood, Cocoon, Silverado, Semi-Tough, Tommy Boy, Alleged, Legal Eagles and Gladiator. He made numerous appearances on television series as well such as Kojak, Serpico, M*A*S*H, Dallas, Knots Landing, Dynasty, Miami Vice, Just Shoot Me, 30 Rock, Rules of Engagement and The Blacklist.
While his work in horror wasn’t often, he still made a lasting impact on the genre. In 1992 he gave a chilling performance as serial killer John Wayne Gacy in To Catch a Killer. The two-episode TV mini-series earned Dennehy a nomination for a Primetime Emmy Award in 1992. The actor went on to win an American Television Award in 1993 as well as being nominated for a Gemini Award.
