Brannon Braga to Direct ‘Books of Blood’ for Hulu

Big news for fans of Clive Barker as Variety is reporting that Brannon Braga will co-write, direct and produce Books of Blood for Hulu. Braga will once again share writing duties with Adam Simon as the duo previously collaborated on the TV series Salem.

The film is set to star Anna Friel, Britt Robertson, Rafi Gavron and Yul Vazquez. Friel will play the role of “Mary,” a gorgeous psychologist that loses her child to leukemia. Soon she meets a character named “Simon” (Rafi Gavron) who claims to be a ghost-whisperer who speaks to her child.

Created by horror legend Clive Barker, Books of Blood was a collection of novels released in the mid-80s. Many movies were adapted from the tales in the book including Candyman (The Forbidden), Lord of Illusions (The Last Illusion), Midnight Meat Train and Rawhead Rex.

Books of Blood is slated to debut in fall 2020. Keep it locked to Horror News Network for the latest on Books of Blood.
