Special deliveries can get dangerous.
Swallowed–a new body horror film–has been making the festival circuit, and this week was snapped up for international sales by Blue Finch Films, who will try to move it next month at the Toronto International Film Festival, according to a report in Variety.
The film–written, directed and produced by Carter Smith (The Ruins)–follows two childhood friends–Benjamin and Dom–“who are on the verge of being separated as Benjamin is leaving rural Maine for Los Angeles,” according to the synopsis.
But before that happens, Dom has a plan to send his friend off with a wad of money. All they have to do is deliver a package across the border.
Not as simple as it sounds. Things “spiral out of control when the package turns out to be something far more dangerous than they could have imagined.”
Swallowed rolls out a strong genre cast that includes Jena Malone (The Neon Demon), Cooper Koch (They/Them), Mark Patton (A Nightmare on Elm Street 2) and newcomer Jose Colon.
