Is it time for Jason to polish up that hockey mask?
Warner Bros. and Paramount Pictures may have hit a few obstacles in their attempts to resurrect the iconic Friday the 13th film franchise, but could Blumhouse finally get the job done?
If producer Ryan Turek and chief executive Jason Blum have their way–given their recent efforts on the Halloween and The Exorcist franchises–the stars just may be in alignment.
In a recent interview with Inverse, Turek said he and Blum “are definitely in agreement that Friday the 13th is the thing we would love to get our hands on.”
Turek added that Blumhouse would “want to go back to the basics” with the Friday the 13th series. “You don’t need too many ingredients for a Friday the 13th film–a summer camp, campers and Jason Voorhees in a mask.”
The producer admitted that Halloween “is the ultimate slasher film for me, but Friday the 13th is one I bow down to. I just love everything about it.”
