Killers and Survivors are ready for their closeup.
Behaviour Interactive is joining forces with Blumhouse Productions and Atomic Monster to bring its Dead by Daylight survival horror video game to cinematic life.
Very little is known about the proposed feature film at this early juncture, but James Wan, Jason Blum and Stephen Mulrooney will produce the movie.
Blum reportedly is currently searching for a director and screenwriter for the project. “I hope to find someone who appreciates and loves this world as much as we do,” Blum said.
Wan praised the video game, saying the Behaviour team “has created a love letter to the world of horror, building an incredible environment teeming with atmosphere and terrifying villains–perfect for a scary cinematic adaptation.”
Dead by Daylight is a one-versus-four survival horror game in which one player takes on the role of a Killer, while the other four play Survivors. The Killer must impale each Survivor on sacrificial hooks to appease an evil force known as the Entity–while the Survivors must avoid being caught and power up the exit gates.
