Ever wonder what zombies look like Down Under?
Wyrmwood: Apocalypse–the bloody sequel to the original 2014 horror flick–is arriving in the States next month, and a full trailer dropped this week to herald the undead terrors. Check out the video–courtesy of JoBlo.com–on this page.
The zombie film will hit VOD platforms April 14 before being released on DVD and Blu-ray May 17.
XYZ Films also unveiled an updated synopsis for the movie that’s set in the zombie-infested Australian wasteland. The storyline follows Rhys, a soldier who has dedicated his life to tracking down and capturing survivors for the Surgeon General in a desperate attempt to find a cure.
When Rhys captures a “half-zombie, half-human named Grace, he comes to believe she is the key to ending the apocalypse,” according to the logline.
The sequel–directed by Kiah Roache-Turner from a screenplay he wrote with his brother Tristan–stars Luke McKenzie, Goran Kleut, Shantae Barnes-Cowan, Nicholas Boshier, Bianca Bradley and Jay Gallagher.
The director called his film “bigger, bolder and pumping with zombies, car chases, explosions and a giant cyborg.” This sequel, he added, is what he wanted to make eight years ago, “but we didn’t have the money.”
