Here’s a “sweet” return for Tony Todd.
Todd–best known for his horrific turn in Candyman–is one of the stars of a new slasher, Bitch Ass, that Quiver Distribution plans to release in theaters Oct. 14, according to a report in Variety.
The film–which won high praise at this year’s SXSW–blends “horror, comedy and social commentary.” Written and directed by Bill Posley (Cobra Kai), the movie also stars Teon Kelley (Sundown), Tunde Laleye (Black as Night), Me’lisa Sellers (To and From) and Sheaun McKinney (The Neighborhood).
The movie tells the story of a gang initiation gone horribly wrong when a group of four recruits “breaks into a house of horrors and are forced by Bitch Ass (Laleye) to play deadly games for their lives. Win and you live–lose and you die.”
Quiver in a statement said that “following an enthusiastic reception at SXSW, we look forward to bringing Bitch Ass to horror fans across America, who will undoubtedly appreciate the mix of comedy and thrills in this unique genre film.”
