“This experiment is bigger than your daughter.”

Birth/Rebirth–a psychological horror pic inspired by Mary Shelley’s classic Frankenstein–will hit Shudder next month, and the official trailer is now here. Check out the video on this page.

The film–debuting Aug. 18–is the feature debut for writer/director Laura Moss. The story follows a single mother (Judy Reyes) and a childless morgue technician (Marin Ireland), “who are bound together by their relationship with a re-animated little girl (A.J. Lister).”

The cast is rounded out by Breeda Wool and Monique Gabriela Curnen. Mali Elfman and David Grove Churchill Viste produced the film.

Shudder general manager Craig Engler praised the movie as a “fantastic blend of psychological and body horror–sure to electrify.”
