What’s out there in the woods this time?
Summoning the Spirit--a new Sasquatch horror pic from Dark Star Pictures and Lake Productions–has wrapped principal photography in Portland before its premiere at the American Film Market, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The pic–from writer/director Jon Garcia (Luz)–follows a couple (played by Krystal Millie Valdes and Ernesto Reyes) who move into a house in a remote forest to escape the big city. But, as you might expect, they find “something much more sinister and soon realize they’re on land occupied by a cult,” according to the synopsis.
And, even worse, the cult leader “claims a telepathic connection to a legendary flesh-eating beast deep in the woods.” Right about now, the big city looks pretty good.
The feature–produced by Garcia, Michael Repsch, Joe Jatcko and Lacy Todd–also stars Jesse Tayeh and Isabelle Muthiah.
Repsch said that “after reading the script, we knew this was a project we could really get on board with. This is more than your typical creature feature–it explores the depth of the human psyche and the thirst for power, along with some incredible practical effects.”
