Behind-the-Scenes Photos of ‘Evil Dead’ Reboot Released on Anniversary

Fede Alvarez’s reboot of Evil Dead was released on this day in 2013. Even though the Evil Dead trilogy has become a cult classic, the reboot wasn’t so beloved when it was first released, even though it had more positive than negative reviews. Alvarez posted behind-the scenes photos on his social media to commemorate the anniversary.

“Every year I try to give you guys some never seen pics from my [Evil Dead] on its birthday,” Alvarez shared on Twitter. “And here’s a few more. (Ok need to save some great ones for the 10th anniversary. Check out Alvarez’s Twitter feed here to take a look at the pics.

After the release of the 2013 reboot, Bruce Campbell reprised his role as Ash Williams for three seasons of the Ash vs. Evil Dead television show. Campbell officially retired at the end of the series.  A new series that follows in the same vein is Evil Dead Rise, which is on its way from Lee Cronin.

Even though Alvarez’s storyline for the series and films has concluded, he did have the idea of Ash and Mia (Jane Levy) from the 2013 reboot, teaming up. One possible way this was envisioned was when Mia walked away from the doomed cabin at the end of the reboot, Ash would be right there to pick her up in his truck.

Evil Dead Rise is set to start filming later this year.
