The holidays have always called for a little bed rest.
The new supernatural thriller Bed Rest–starring Scream‘s Melissa Barrera–this week was picked up by Tubi for U.S. streaming. The horror pic debuts on Tubi Dec, 7.
Bed Rest–from writer/director Lori Evans Taylor (in her directorial debut)–follows Julie Rivers (Barrera) after she becomes pregnant and moves into a new home with her husband, according to the synopsis.
After being ordered to mandatory bed rest, Julie begins to “slowly unravel, as she suffers through the monotony and anxiety of her new constraints.”
Before too long, “ghostly experiences begin to close in on Julie, stirring up her past demons and causing others to question her mental stability. Trapped–and forced to face her past and the supernatural–Julie fights to protect herself and her unborn baby.”
Joining Barrera in the cast are Guy Burnet, Edie Inksetter, Paul Essiembre, Kristen Harris, Erik Athavale, Kristen Sawatzky and Darcy Fehr.
Barrera–who also serves as a producer on the film–said that, “while Bed Rest on the surface is a horror film, it’s also a story that will resonate deeply with anyone who’s experienced grief and been haunted by loss. Lori Evans Taylor has created a deeply emotional journey for audiences.”
