Basket Case Blu-Ray coming in September

Image EntertainmentFrank Henenlotter’s 1982 horror film Basket Case has been slated for a Blu-ray release courtesy of Image Entertainment and Something Weird Video. A release date of September 27th has been confirmed along with an assortment of new special features. Basket Case earned its reputation in the horror genre through its theatrical midnight movie screenings and popularity on VHS. It tells the story of Duane Bradley (Kevin Van Hentenryck) and his deformed siamese twin brother Belial, whom Duane was surgically separated from and now carries with him in a basket. In a bid for revenge, the two hunt down the doctors who performed the separation. For its Blu-ray presentation, Basket Case will feature a 1:33:1 aspect ratio to faithfully replicate the 16mm stock it was filmed on. Image Entertainment will also include DTS HD Master Audio 5.1 for this release.
