Wild Eye’s ‘Tales of Poe’ Features Horror Scream Queens

Wild Eye Releasing has announced that Tales of Poe, which features legendary horror scream queens, is coming to DVD on October 11. First premiering at Hollywood’s famous Egyptian Theater, the horror anthology has since garnered praise from critics. It has been hailed as “a worthy successor to the Roger Corman/ Vincent Price Poe films”  by San Francisco Weekly. The feature was co-directed by Bart Mastronardi and Alan Rowe Kelly. read more

New Clip For Syfy’s ‘Channel Zero: Candle Cove’

A sneak peak has been released for Syfy’s Channel Zero, a six-part anthology TV series based on “creepypasta”. The first season of the show, entitled Candle Cove, will premiere on September 27. For those who are unfamiliar with it, Creepypasta is described as “user-generated horror stories that are published and passed around the Internet.”

Candle Cove, based on a story by Kris Straub, follows one man’s obsession with a 1980’s children’s TV show of the same name, and his suspicions that the show may have been somehow connected to the deadly events from his childhood. The series stars Paul Schneider (Newsroom) and Fiona Shaw (Harry Potter). The new clip shows the group talking about their memories of “Candle Cove” and a character known as “Jawbone.” read more read more

New Trailer for ‘Scream Queens’ Season 2 Released

A new trailer for season two of Ryan Murphy’s Scream Queens has been released. The thirty-second clip gives a glimpse of the returning cast working in a hospital, which becomes yet another crime scene. Jamie Lee Curtis, Emma Roberts, Lea Michele, Abigail Breslin, Keke Palmer, and more reprise their roles from the first season. New additions to the cast for season two of the horror comedy include John Stamos, Taylor Lautner, Colton Haynes, Jerry O’Connell, Ariana Grande and Nick Jonas. read more read more

First Trailer & Poster for ‘Shut In’

The first trailer and poster for Shut In have been released by EuropaCorp. Directed by Farren Blackburn and written by Christina Hodson, the thriller stars Naomi Watts, Oliver Platt, Charlie Heaton, David Cubitt, and Jacob Tremblay. Watts, who starred in 2002’s hit horror film The Ring, returns to familiar territory with another film centered around a ghostly child.

The official synopsis for the film reads, “SHUT IN is a heart-pounding thriller starring Naomi Watts as a widowed child psychologist who lives an isolated existence in rural New England. Caught in a deadly winter storm, she must find a way to rescue a young boy before he disappears forever.” read more read more

Gene Wilder Dies

Gene Wilder, comedy actor best known to horror fans for Mel Brooks’ Young Frankenstein, has died at the age of 83. The Associated Press confirmed with his family that he passed away in Stamford, CT. Wilder had career which began in the 1960’s and spanned decades. His role as Willy Wonka in Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (1971) brought him to fame.

Wilder co-starred in The Producers in 1967, which marked the first of his collaborations with Mel Brooks. He starred in 1974’s Blazing Saddles as the Waco Kid. Young Frankenstein also came along that year. Wilder and Brooks co-wrote the screenplay for the comedic spin on the Universal Monsters films. read more read more

Synopsis: The story of a loving father who dons a clown outfit and makeup to perform at his son’s sixth birthday, only to later discover that the costume – red nose and wig included– will not come off and his own personality changing in a horrific fashion. To break the curse of the evil outfit, the father must make grim choices with his own family facing danger.

Our Thoughts: Clown takes what would seem to be a ridiculous premise and creates a horrific tale that is both disturbing and tragic. When a father finds a clown costume in his home and puts it on to entertain his son, you think nothing could possibly go wrong. However, that could not be further from the truth. read more read more
