The zombies made a killing.
The Walking Dead–AMC’s flagship zombie apocalypse series–is wrapping up its 11th and final season next month, so it stands to reason that memorabilia from the show would become instant collector’s items. And so they were, according to a report on Screen Rant.
During a recent auction of TWD goodies held by marketplace Goldin, the original baseball bat–Lucille–wielded by Negan during Season 7 went for a whopping $51,600. Another iconic prop–Daryl’s 1992 Honda CB 750 Nighthawk motorcycle–fetched an impressive $32,400.
Collectors also snatched up such fan-favorites as Michonne’s original sword, a police cruiser from Rick Grimes’ final episode and a red rubber machete.
The final eight episodes of The Walking Dead have already begun airing on AMC–the remainder include What’s Been Lost (Oct. 23), Outpost 22 (Oct. 30), Faith (Nov. 6) and the series finale, Rest in Peace (Nov. 20).
Executive producer Greg Nicotero–who directed Rest in Peace--said the cast and crew felt as if they had “an obligation to make sure this landed. Everybody was saying we can’t screw this up because all eyes end up on the last episode.”
