‘Attack the Block 2’ Reunites John Boyega and Joe Cornish as Lead and Director

Announced this week on Deadline, Attack the Block 2 will see John Boyega return as the lead character Moses and Joe Cornish back as writer and director.

Released in May of 2011, the original Attack the Block was the springboard for John Boyega’s career and the story of a teenage street gang who have to fight a legion of predatory aliens invading a council estate in South London on November 5, known as Guy Fawkes Night.

With Joe Cornish back as writer and director for the sequel, he will also be a producer with Boyega through his film company UpperRoom Productions.

Story details right now are under wraps, though likely to follow once production begins and a trailer is released.

Since Mark was four years old he has always loved the horror genre, even when his mother would be a good parent and not let him watch such films. It was when he would sneak into the Horror section at the video store called Tommy K's that he would see all of the VHS covers of classics like Friday the 13th and A Nightmare on Elm Street. During his time as a journalism major and news staff writer at Southern CT State University, he had the pleasure of meeting and interviewing paranormal investigator Lorraine Warren before a seminar in 2009 at the Lyman Center on campus.
