Horror fans have been waiting for news about the live-action prequel to Zack Snyder’s riveting Netflix zombie movie Army of the Dead. Well, here’s something to chew on.
Army of Thieves–which spotlights the mercenary Ludwig Dieter first seen in Army of the Dead–is now slated to hit Netflix this fall, according to JoBlo.com. No exact date has been announced at this time, so–as they say–stay tuned.
And, while you’re waiting, check out the images from the prequel on this very page that show the cast as they set out on their adventure.
The movie–directed by and starring Matthias Schweighofer (who plays Dieter) and written by Shay Hatten and Snyder–follows “small-town bank teller Dieter (as he) gets drawn into the adventure of a lifetime when a mysterious woman recruits him to join a crew of Interpol’s most-wanted criminals.”
The dangerous gig? To steal “a sequence of legendary, impossible-to-crack safes across Europe.”
Army of Thieves–produced by Snyder and his wife Deborah–also stars Nathalie Emmanuel, Ruby O. Fee, Stuart Martin, Guz Khan, Jonathan Cohen, Trent Garrett, John Bubniak, Barbara Meier and Noemie Nakai.
Snyder said he is “incredibly excited to partner with Netflix as we expand the Day of the Dead universe with this prequel. It’s been a great collaboration.”
