Apes Rule the Box Office Crossing $300M Worldwide

Deadline is reporting that the apes have done it again. The 20th Century Studios/Disney’s Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes has topped $300M worldwide at the box office.

In theaters now, Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes is directed by Wes Ball (the Maze Runner trilogy) and stars Owen Teague (IT), Freya Allan (The Witcher), Kevin Durand (Locke & Key), Peter Macon (Shameless), and William H. Macy (Fargo). The screenplay is by Josh Friedman (War of the Worlds) and Rick Jaffa & Amanda Silver (Avatar: The Way of Water) and Patrick Aison (Prey).

The official synopsis of the film reads “Many years after the reign of Caesar, a young ape goes on a journey that will lead him to question everything he’s been taught about the past and make choices that will define a future for apes and humans alike.”
