The horror of Antlers is coming home for the holidays.
If you missed out on the creature terrors of Antlers in the theater, you’ll have a chance to experience them at home just in time for Christmas.
Searchlight Pictures this week said the horror film will have a Digital HD release Dec. 21, as reported by comicbook.com, and will arrive on Blu-ray and DVD Jan. 4, 2022.
And the home video release boasts several bonus features–including interviews with director/co-writer Scott Cooper and producer Guillermo del Toro, an in-depth exploration of the digital and practical special effects in the film, a look at the folklore surrounding the mythical Wendigo and a chat with actor Scott Haze about his transformative performance.
Antlers is directed by Cooper from a screenplay he wrote with C. Henry Chaisson and Nick Antosca–a script that was adapted from Antosca’s short story The Quiet Boy, first published in January 2019.
The movie follows Julia Meadows (Keri Russell), a school teacher in a small Oregon town, and her brother Paul (Jesse Plemons), the local sheriff, who “become concerned about one of her students, Lucas Weaver (Jeremy T. Thomas), who is secretly keeping a supernatural creature inside his house,” according to the official synopsis.
The film–which made its world debut at the Los Angeles-based Beyond Fest in early October–landed in theaters right before Halloween, on Oct. 29.
